I grew up in Tokyo, Japan, and moved to the United States to study Cinema at San Francisco State University where I fell in love with chopping up film footage. The magic of editing has layers: understanding music, fancy effects, tempo, and most importantly, Story Telling. Within the chaos of 50+ hours of footage I find emotion to tell compelling stories.
My credits include numerous documentaries and TV series, most notably “American Masters- Make a Noise” featuring Mel Brooks for which I received an Emmy nomination in 2014 for the PBS series.
As a side note, my passion is cats and I completed my first feature documentary called “CAT PEOPLE.” The film is about people who dedicate their lives to cats.
